This is a nice hike beginning on Timm Drive or near parking lot P3 on Corkstown Road. This sign is along the more rugged trail, the western section of the trail loop. The sign is near the centre of the hydro-electricity corridor even though the signed co-ordinates are for the northern edge of that corridor. The sign does not mark a trail intersection but trail users can see the other trail from the sign. That other trail, broad and flat, is part of the Rideau Trail and Trans Canada Trail systems.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
