The Lizzie Lincoln House looks spooky. And, in fact, when I stopped to take pictures of it for this Waymark, I was really glad that there was a fence and no trespassing signs preventing me from attempting to get closer. It also FELT spooky. And why does this house have the reputation for being haunted? No one knows for sure but it may have something to do with the fact that years ago, it was used as part of a haunted house tour. Charlie Adams, the local Berks County expert on haunted houses, claims that any stories attached to this house are "pure bunk." So, if it isn't haunted, then who is this Lizzie Lincoln? Again, no one knows and nothing can be found stating there ever was a person with that name. Rumor has it that Lizzie was the name of the first mistress of this house and Lincoln came from the fact that it sits on Lincoln Road.

Whatever its story, I just know that I did not want to get any closer to it than my spot on the side of the road....yes, that would be Lincoln Road.
