A young artist Vendula meets and marries Martin, a toy designer. They start a family, and have twin girls and a baby boy. Martin is busy building his career while Vendula takes care of the family. In their hectic schedules Martin has no time left for the family, while Vendula is no longer able to create her own identity, and both feel that their efforts are not appreciated by their partner. Martin believes that taking care of the kids and the household is easy, and to prove it makes a bet with his wife to take on her responsibilities for a month. And that is when a series of comic, sad, and unexpected events changes their lives.

Vendula s Martinem se poznali na vernisáži studentu akademie výtvarných umení. Vendula plánovala dráhu umelecké malírky, ale místo toho se vdala, porodila tri deti a stala se z ní žena v domácnosti. Martin pracuje ve firme, která se zabývá marketingem zamereným na hracky a hlavní sídlo má v Rusku, kam by mel jít Martin pracovat. Své práci venuje hodne casu na úkor rodiny a s Vendulou už na sebe nemají žádný cas. Když jede celá rodina za Martinovým tátou na víkend, dojde Vendule trpelivost: nechá deti s Martinem a sama jde za tchánem do hospody. Tchán ji chápe a vyprovokuje Martina k uzavrení sázky, že se nedokáže sám postarat o své tri deti po dobu jednoho mesíce. Vendula tak má celý mesíc pro sebe, muže odpocívat, bavit se a vrátit se k malování. Zato Martinovi nastávají težké chvíle, nebot nemá predstavu o chodu domácnosti ani o tom, že detem musí urcovat pravidla...
