[DE] "Erst für 1330 ist in dem 832 erstmals erwähnten Ort eine Pfarrkirche überliefert. Der heutige neugotische Bau ersetzt einen Vorgänger des 16. und 18. Jahrhunderts. Er wurde 1896/97 von dem Saarbrücker Architekten Wilhelm Hector aus rotem Sandstein errichtet und orientiert sich an der Gotik des späteren 13. Jahrhunderts. Sein klarer Baukörper wird von Strebepfeilern und einfachen Spitzbogenfenstern gegliedert und dominiert mit seinem viergeschossigen Chorflankenturm das Ortsbild. Nur die beiden Turmobergeschosse und die unsymmetrische Eingangsfassade mit Vorhalle, kleinem Treppenturm und breitem Spitzbogenfenster zeigen reichere Bauzier.
Den vierjochigen Saal gliedern Wandvorlagen, die die Gurtbögen und die Kreuzrippen des Gewölbes aufnehmen. Der eingezogene Chor zeigt noch eine original neugotische Verglasung und deckt ein Rippengewölbe auf runden Vorlagen mit Blattwerkkapitellen. Eine barocke, 1738 datierte steinerne Altarwand mit seitlichen Portalen aus dem Vorgängerbau fand 1930 hier Platz, das neugotische Hochaltarretabel - eine Stiftung des Trierer Weihbischofs Karl Ernst Schrod, der aus Bickendorf stammte, von 1898 steht heute unter der Empore. Der Flügelaltar enthält Reliefs des letzten Abendmahls und der Kreuzigung aus dem Ateliers Port, Münstermaifeld/Augsburg. Seine Türen sind innen mit alttestamentlichen Patriarchen, außen mit Heiligen bemalt. Aus der Erbauungszeit der Kirche stammen auch Kanzel, Beichtstuhl, Orgelprospekt und Gestühl. Die Grabplatte des 1758 verstorbenen Gutsherrn Alexander du Sartz und seiner Frau Anna Maria Veyder dient als Antependium für den kleinen Altar der Vorhalle."

The winged altar contains reliefs of the Last Supper and the Crucifixion from the Ateliers Port, Münstermaifeld/Augsburg. Its doors are painted with Old Testament patriarchs on the inside and saints on the outside. The pulpit, confessional, organ prospectus and chairs also date from the time the church was built. The tombstone of Alexander du Sartz and his wife Anna Maria Veyder, who died in 1758, serves as an antependium for the small altar in the vestibule."
