The small San Marcos Mexican Restaurant chain was established in 1993 by the Deloera Family, which immigrated to the USA from Aguascalientes, Mexico. Their first store was soon followed by two others; this one is #3. Two more have opened since.
This is hands down my favorite Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurant. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the portions are large enough that I can always "split my plate" and take half of it home. Every meal comes with a complete set-up of chips, salsa, relish, and soft tortillas. For me there's no better way to end a day of hard work than relaxing on their covered patio with steaming hot food and a cold beer or 'rita and the weekly Sudoku puzzle.
