Thammasat University was one of the original group of Thai universities, it opened its doors as the University of Moral and Political Sciences in 1934. The first building constructed, on the main Tha Phra Chan Campus in central Bangkok, was this, the Dome Building. On the west facing external wall, looking out over a courtyard with a statue of the university founder, is this public clock.
Nothing flash, but the design matches the building. The clock is approximately half a metre in diameter, with black hands and Roman numerals. Impressive as it is, the clock was one hour behind the times during my visit. Entry to the campus is unrestricted.
