DESCRIPTION DE L'OEUVRE
La sculpture est située dans la partie sud du parc Baldwin, à proximité de la rue Sherbrooke. Prenant la forme d’un escalier symbolique, elle établit un lien entre mythe, nature et culture. Dans cette œuvre, tel un lieu de passage, l’artiste crée un paradoxe entre la vie et la mort. La réactualisation du mythe suscite un questionnement sur le désir d’atteindre la perfection et l’immortalité. Réalisée en acier corten, l’œuvre se patine vers un chromatisme rouille, créant ainsi une esthétique de la nature.
La sculpture monolithique est la troisième œuvre d’une trilogie également composée de l’installation Ô Narcisse, ma sœur… et de La chambre d’Écho.

ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
The sculpture is situated in the south part of Parc Baldwin, near Rue Sherbrooke. Taking the form of a symbolic staircase, it establishes links among myth, nature, and culture. In this artwork, as a place of transition, the artist creates a paradox between life and death. The updated version of the myth questions the desire to attain perfection and immortality. Made of Corten steel, the artwork is taking on a rust-coloured patina, creating an aesthetic associated with nature.
The monolithic sculpture is the third work in a trilogy also composed of the installation Ô Narcisse, ma sœur… and La chambre d’Écho.
