Slate sundial on the south porch of St Botolph's church, Burton Hastings with Stretton Baskerville.

"This vertical slate dial has stood the test of time well since it was erected in 1867. Across the top is the motto “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Day – a quotation from the Odes of Horace) while the date is engraved round the root of the bronze gnomon which has a decorative scrolled support. It shows VI to VI divided into halves. The dial measures about 900mm square. On the South wall of the church is a [very heavily weathered] mass dial."
