The British Golf Museum has been open for the last thirty years or so at St.Andrews, on the Bruce Embankment behind the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse and first tee on the Old Course, and within a few yards of the North Sea coast.
The museum gives a history of the game of golf from the 16th century to the present day, with the largest collection of golf memorabilia in Europe. Over 16,000 items of equipment, prizes, artworks, film, photographs, and archives are on display.
A gift shop is situated at the entrance, and a cafeteria gives a view across St.Andrews Bay. Also included within the museum is wheelchair access, baby changing facilities, free translation, and large print and braille. A large car park is close by with disabled parking.
Entry is free for children.
