Bethany was the first settlement in the Barossa Valley (of South Australia), being settled in 1842 by Prussian and German immigrants. It is about 2 km southeast of Tanunda, and has quite a few vineyards in the countryside.

It seems that it is so small that it may not be separated out in the 5 yearly census, but is included in the Tanunda area District count.
