The two storey brick building with verandahs on the two street frontages was constructed in 1883 and housed the Bank of New South Wales until 1922, between 1922 and 1966 it was used as the Catholic Presbytery. The Wellington Shire Council purchased the building in 1967 and became the Oxley Historical Museum
