Built in 1896 for Evangelische Gemeinde Lutheran congregation, which was breaking away from the Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood. The division ended in the 1920's and most member rejoined Concordia. The building was sold to Olive Chapel of the African Methodist Episcopal Church which was founded in Kirkwood in 1853, one of the oldest A.M.E churches west of the Mississippi River. The building features original stained glass windows and fine woodwork and is in a Gothic Revival style.
