Te Kopia Scenic Reserve is located on Te Kopia Rd, on the western side of the Paeora ranges, between the rural settlements of Reporoa and Waikite Valley.
A signpost points to the Reserve and a walking track and boardwalk give easy access to the viewing points. There are some short flights of wooden stairs but it is a fairly easy uphill 5 - 10 minute walk.
There are also rare and endangered ferns beside the track, unique to these geothermal areas. Please keep to the paths, it is dangerous ground so do not wander off the boardwalks.
To get here: Turn off SH5 at Waiotapu and drive west along Waikite Valley Road. You will pass the hot pools at Waikite Thermal Pools complex. Keep going on this road and turn left into Te Kopia Road.
Parking is on the roadside, around S 38° 24.065 E 176° 12.880.
