Located within the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge are a series of trails and boardwalks for wildlife viewing including a 4 mile wildlife drive that can be utilized by hikers, bikers, and automotive vehicles.
At the Wildlife Education Boardwalk located off of the Indigo Trail there is a viewing tower and boardwalk viewing area. Located here is a Birds of the Refuge information sign. This is an ideal location since a large percentage of these birds can be seen at this spot.
Birds mentioned on the sign that we saw while there include Belted Kingfisher, Osprey, Anhinga, Roseate Spoonbill and White Ibis.
