Bij kasteel Terborg in Schinnen staat een prachtig mooi hardstenen veldkruis dat eigenlijk een
dankkruis is. Het was Vrouwe Maria Ernestine van Schellardt van Obbendorf die het kruis hier liet plaatsen als dank aan de bewoners van Schinnen.
De tekst op het kruis is aan de voorzijde onder het corpus moeilijk leesbaar, maar uit bewaarde geschriften weten we wat hier in gebeiteld staat. "SaLVos fa Clas DoMIe scHInnenses" (1758), wat betekend: Heer, bescherm de inwoners van Schinnen. De hoofdletters geven de jaartallen aan in Romeinse getallen.
In de voet van het kruis staat het wapen van de Schellardts afgebeeld. het is uitgevoerd in reliëf. Het corpus is weergegeven in half reliëf. Boven het corpus staan de letters INRI (Jezus Nazaraeus Resu Judeacorum) Jezus van Nazareth koning der Joden. Op de achterzijde van het kruis staat de Larijnse tekst; "fLeCte CrUeM JeSU sUppelLex Venerare VLator tUta saLUtfera stat CrUCe nostra saLUs". (1758). "Buig u, o deemoedige wandelaar, en aanbid het kruis van Jesus: Ons heil is veilig door het heilbrengende kruis".(1758).
Wanneer we het corpus eens goed in ogenschouw nemen, zien we het hoofd naar links gericht, omhoog kijkend. De voeten naast elkaar, afzonderlijk gespijkerd, en het heeft een korte baard. het kruis is hoog, 2,60 m. en 94 cm.breed.
