Evanston City Cemetery is located at the south and west sides of Highway 89 as it curves toward the NW part of town. Posted coordinates are for the entrance on the west side, near the intersection of County Rd. and Schwitzer's Ct.
Just inside the cemetery entrance is a large map showing the different sections:
Catholic, Masonic, Oddfellows, Old Section, Public Section, New Section, Red Mountain Cemetery Addition, and Wyoming State Hospital Cemetery.
This is a very well maintained cemetery with many trees scattered about. There are deer wandering around as well.
One famous person laid to rest here is Clarence Don Clark, who was a U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senator who lived his final days in Evanston.
The city's website, under "Cemetery Walking Tour" states the cemetery was established in the early 1870's, not long after the city of Evanston was established.
