Thammasat University is one of the leading universities of Thailand. It is situated on the Chao Phraya River in central Bangkok. Located amongst a cluster of buildings is this statue. I was told by several students during my visit to the campus that this lifesized statue represented the student body as a whole. The statue is of a young Thai man, standing and looking forward. In his left hand he holds a folded scroll, representing traditional Thai knowledge. His right hand touches his chin, deep in thought, with an inquiring expression. He is dressed in traditional Thai costume.

The statue is located near the student complex buildings.
