The plaque says, "Gen J.E.B. Stuarts Confederate Cavalry Occupied Rockville June 28, 1863, and Captured 150 U.S. wagons along the Washinton Road, from here they marched to Gettysburg. In July 1864, Gen Jubal Early Passed through Rockville on his way to and from Washington."
