A l'emplacement de thermes antiques, la place Gabriel Peri était occupée jusqu'en 1792 par les jardins de l'évèque et pâr un cimetière.

A la révolution, la ville récupéra l'espace et ouvrit une place. La fontaine qui alimentait les jardins fut transférée en son centre.

En 1853, elle fut remplacée par deux nouvelles fontaines, oeuvres d'Elzéar Sollier, sculpteur local à qui ont doit également la fontaine de Saignon.

Les eaux qui les alimentent sont captées au-dessus de la ville, au quartier St Martian.

EN At the site of ancient thermal baths, Gabriel Peri Square was occupied until 1792 by the Bishop's gardens and a cemetery.

At the revolution, the city reclaimed the space and opened a place. The fountain that supplied the gardens was transferred to its centre.

In 1853, it was replaced by two new fountains, works by Elzéar Sollier, a local sculptor who also created the Saignon fountain.

The water that supplies them is collected above the city, in the St Martian district.
