This is one of the newer parks. The was, I am told, a small park here with a ballfield...nothing else. You can still see the evidence of the ball field in the Google Satellite view of the area.
Right now the only thing here is the dog park, and one picnic table.
Parking lot is blacktop paved. Nice sidewalk to the entrance of the dog run areas. and landscaping is in progress
Bark Park Rules and Regulations
"South Point Bark Park: Located at Kingsland & Simmonds Drive behind the Wastewater Treatment Plant on the East end of the Rotary Riverfront Trail.
"Bring your dog down to the newly fenced 1.25 acre park to have some fun!
"Future plans include a pavlion, restroom and a fence to separate the small and large dogs." ~ The City of Washington, Parks
South Point Bark Park Opens Saturday
"Washington’s first permanent dog park is slated to open to the public this Saturday, May 13.
"The opening of the South Point Bark Park was pushed back a week because of flooding.
"Parks and Recreation Director Darren Dunkle said the ribbon cutting is set for 12:30 p.m.
"The dog park is located off Old Highway 100 on Simmonds Avenue near the east end of the riverfront trail entrance and the wastewater treatment plant.
"Dunkle said fencing is up around the park, but the city’s work is not totally done. Parks crew members were supposed to do some concrete work and landscaping last week when floodwaters filled the park.
Crews were pouring concrete Tuesday, but Dunkle said the park could still open without all the details finished." ~ The Missourian, May 10, 2017
