"Lions Lake and fountain are the most obvious to most people. The 10 acre lake was dedicated by the Washington Lions in 1955. The fountain was added later as a means to aerate the lake and keep the ice from forming for the ducks and geese in the winter. Four of the pavilions around the lake were also built by Lions. Trees have been planted in several park areas in recognition of specific bequests and at the request of the park department." ~ Washington Lions
