Bronze door at the south entrance to the Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena) called as Porta della Riconoscenza (Gate of Gratitude) were installed in 1946 and it depicts the Glorification of the Virgin, Siena’s patron saint.

Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena) is a medieval church in Siena, Italy, dedicated from its earliest days as a Roman Catholic Marian church, and now dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.arge in scale and ornately decorated inside and out, Siena's cathedral is one of the finest examples of Italian Gothic architecture.
The central door at the south entrance replaced in 1946 the older wooden one. The large door, known as the Porta della Riconoscenza, was commissioned in 1946 near the end of the German occupation of Siena. Sculpted by Vico Consorti and cast by Enrico Manfrini, the scenes on the door represent the Glorification of the Virgin, Siena’s patron saint.
