This bronze cap is riveted to a pipe in the desert south of Apache Junction. It, now, is located on State Trust Land. At one time this would have been open range land with the Banksville Highway, another name for a dirt road, running about a half mile to the north. The marker is surrounded by rocks and is in quite good shape. It divides section T1N from R8E at the junction with S35 and S 36. Stamped on the cap head is U.S. General Land Office Survey 1914, Penalty $250 for Removal, T1N, R8E, S35, S 36. The marker is located approximately 1167 feet west of the western edge of US 60 at an angle of 90 degrees and 1208 feet south of the southern edge of US 60 at an angle of 0 degrees, US 60 having made a turn between the two points.
