This park/plaza does not have specific signage, however, objects within the park are marked with the Central Park label.
Per the City website (a grid of information about the parks in Seguin) - (
visit link) - Central Park is listed as .91 acres and is a "Specialty Park". I take that to mean to is the central plaza of the town just south of the Courthouse and it is a gathering place for special events. The only other field in the grid marked is the four monuments which I will expand.
The town of Seguin was named for Juan Seguin, a hero of the Texas Independence. A large equestrian statue of Juan stand in the southeast corner of the park. A large bandstand, dominating the northern edge of the park, is used for concerts. Lots of space to hear music on a warm summer evening. The central part of the park has a restored 1935 fountain. It is rather mesmerizing with its changing water pattern. There are two large red granite boulder monuments at entrances to the park - at the south is the Seguin Centennial of 1848 - 1948, and to the east is a monument to the Texas to Kansas Cattle Trail. There is also a small granite marker honoring German settlement at the western entrance. All in all, this is really a nicely done civic park for Seguin, Texas.
