"John M. Linde Jr., 30, San Antonio, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in a bomb attack in the Gaza Strip in the Middle East. He was killed when a remote-controlled bomb exploded under a three-car U.S. diplomatic convoy. The blast occurred Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. local time as embassy personnel were enroute to interview Palestinian professors and students for a work-study program in the United States. Mr. Linde, a bodyguard employed by a private company, DynCorp, was policing the convoy when he and two other bodyguards were killed." ~ Find-A-Grave
