"Norbert F. "Nook" Watermann, 91, Washington, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Washington.
"Mr. Watermann was born April 30, 1918, in Washington, the son of the late Oswald Watermann and wife Emma, nee Manhart.
"He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On Jan. 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Josephine Swoboda at St. Francis Borgia Church.
"He was a member of VFW Post 2661, the Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Borgia Church.
"Mr. Watermann served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was inducted in 1944. He was the co-owner of Wimpy's Cafe.
"Mr. Watermann was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Josephine Watermann; and two sisters, Alma Watermann and Elsa Sniffen.
"Among his survivors are three sons, Michael Watermann and wife Jane, Santa Rosa, Calif., Alan Watermann, Washington, and Bruce Watermann and Linda Burnett, Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Dianne Holland and husband Buell Jr., Washington, and Laurie Elfrank and husband John, St. Louis; one brother, Maurice Watermann and wife Jean, Washington; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
"A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, with the Rev. Andrew Sigmund officiating.
"Interment was in the church cemetery.
"Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association are preferred." ~ Find-A-Grave
