This memorial window for Henry Robert Scott can be found in St. Paul’s Church in Ramsey. The dedication which is on a brass plaque mounted in front of the window and behind the choir stalls carries the following inscription:
“To the Glory of God and in Loving
Memory of Henry Robert Scott
Obiit Nov 1s 1873 Aetat 23

It seems that the dedication may not be entirely accurate as the 1861 UK National Census gives Henry as being 8 years of age and having been born in 1853. The same Census shows his older sister, Louisa Maria as being 22, unmarried and living at home with her brother, their father Robert and mother Maria. Interestingly the family’s female servant Margaret Stevenson was born in the Isle of Man.

At the following UK National Census in 1871, Henry is living in Ramsey with his sister Louisa Maria at 13 Windsor Terrace. It is not clear what occupation Henry followed as he is described as a 'Scholar'. Henry’s sister was a widow having married a Mr. Goldsmith since the previous Census. Louisa Maria’s occupation is given as ‘Annuitant’.

“The window behind the choir stalls, placed in memory of Henry Robert Scott, who died in 1873, shows on one light S. Peter, S. James, S. John; S. Lawrence and S. Stephen; Edward the Confessor and S. George; and on the other David, Moses, Abraham; the Blessed Virgin Mary and S. Cecilia; S. Ambrose and S. Gregory. In the centre is Our Lord over all.”

At the foot of the two light is the following quotation taken from Psalm 30:4 in the King James Version of the Bible:
“SING UNTO THE LORD
O YE SAINTS OF HIS”
