This 'You Are Here' map is situated at Barnfields Bridge over the River Churnet.
This bridge, allows access from the Leek Branch of the Caldon Canal to the Barnfield path alongside the River Churnet.

The map is mounted on a stone plinth with 'Welcome to Leek' carved into the front face. The map shows the local area which includes Ladderedge Country Park and the town of Leek. The board entitled Canal to Market Street, Leek also includes information about Leek, the canal and the local area.

Barnfields is part of the Ladderedge Country Park that includes
70 acres of meadows, parkland and woods, a 20 minute walk from the centre of Leek.
Ladderedge country park is divided into two areas either side of the road. The main section is an undulating landscape of meadows and woodlands with great views over Leek towards the Peak District. The other section is generally flatter where the River Churnet meanders along next to the meadow and woodland walk. SOURCE: (visit link)
