Built in 1875, the St. Vincent de Paul Seminary was originally built to provide a home and schooling for those studying to enter the Vincentians priesthood. The Miraculous Medal Shrine was built as part of this seminary. Today, the seminary is not active but the Miraculous Medal Shrine is very active. The archdiocese of Philadlephia has designated it as one of the six shrines to visit and their Monday novenas have been declared the most popular prayer service in the archdiocese.
