Corner Gas is a Canadian television sitcom created by Brent Butt. The series ran for six seasons from 2004 to 2009. The series was followed by a feature film titled Corner Gas: The Movie, with the entire cast reprising their roles. The film was released for a limited theatrical run in December 2014.

Deriving its name from the roadside gas station in the fictional town of Dog River, Saskatchewan, Corner Gas is the only gas station for 60 kilometres (37 mi) in any direction. The series completed its run following broadcast of its sixth season on April 13, 2009, with a total of 107 episodes. The show averaged a million viewers per episode. Corner Gas received six Gemini Awards, and was nominated almost 70 times for various awards.

Corner Gas was filmed entirely in Saskatchewan. The interior shots (Ruby Cafe interior, Police Department, Oscar and Emma's house, etc.) were filmed at Canada/Saskatchewan Production Studios in Regina. All the outdoor scenes and all scenes that take place in the gas station were filmed on location in Rouleau, Saskatchewan. Rouleau is a small town on Highway 39 between Moose Jaw and Weyburn. The grain elevator was repainted to read "Dog River" instead of "Rouleau"

Although the "Dog River Post Office" made sporadic and very brief appearances in the Corner Gas television series, it was featured more prominently during the filming of Corner Gas The Movie

The first time we see the Post Office in the movie when office Karen goes on a ticket-writing spree. After ticketing a number of cars in front of the Dog River Hotel, we next find here writing a ticket to a man while standing in front of the Post Office

The next appearance shows Brent and Lacey, arguably the two main characters, walking along Main Street with the Post Office visible behind them (and Brent's car is parked in front of the PO)

And finally, just as the National Star reporter makes her way to Dog River to evaluate it for the Quaintest Town in Canada contest, we see Lacey and Fitzy standing on Main Street, awaiting her arrival..just before all south...

Today the Post Office is still ... a Post Office (no surprise there), just as it was for many years before the show existed. However, the Corner Gas plaque in front of the building is not the only thing to draw fans to visit the location. Visitors are encouraged to bring their letters and "Dog River Walking Tour" postcards to the Post Office where a special cancellation stamp is applied (see image below)
