When the Gothic-styled, stone church was built, and, when this Commemorative Plaque was laid in 1949, this was a Methodist Church; only becoming a Uniting Church when that was formed in 1977. The white marble tablet is below a dual-arched window in the foyer, and has this inscription:

To The Glory Of God
This Stone Was Laid By
Mrs B. Stacey.
On August 27th 1949.
To Commemorate The
70th Anniversary.
