Elsey School - Elsey MO USA - Former Schools on Waymarking.com

This school is on a road named for the school, namely Elsey School Road. A web search did not turn up much about this school, but a transcript from a 1927 booklet (web link below) indicates that Elsey was "a religious community with a good school and two substantial church buildings". It also lists a few of the businesses at the time.

In my experience, I have seen these old schools do one of the following:

• become abandoned and decay into a pile of material
• get repurposed into a community building or community center
• become a workshop for a newer home built near it
• get repurposed into a church (though many also served as churches as well as a school in their day)
• get remodeled into a home
• get burned down or otherwise destroyed

and a few other things. This one was remodeled into a private residence.
