"Salmon Creek pours over a hard limestone cap to form beautiful Ludlowville Falls. The soft shale underneath has eroded away, creating an overhang cave and deep plunge pool. This fall powered the early settlement of Ludlowville, named for the pioneer family that built a gristmill here in 1795."

"To reach a viewpoint overlooking the 36 foot Ludlowville Falls is nothing more than a short walk across a playground at a small town park. A short fishing access trail takes you do down to Salmon Creek for an up close view of the falls and its unique cave on the left of the falls. Be aware that there is a lot of spray from the falls if you take the trip down the short trail to the creek. This is one of the easiest waterfalls to visit in the area."
