Le Château des Comtes de Mérode, aujourd'hui propriété de la Commune de Ham-sur-Heure-Nalinnes et siège de l'Administration communale, se niche dans l'écrin de verdure boisé de la vallée de l'Eau d'Heure, entre Charleroi et Philippeville. Située à l'entrée du village de Ham-sur-Heure, l'ancienne place forte dresse ses murs bienveillants au milieu d'un parc verdoyant, cadre bucolique pour une promenade romantique ou une sortie en famille.

L'édifice abrite également le CPAS, la Bibliothèque communale de Ham-sur-Heure ainsi que le Musée de la Vie Rurale et Artisanale.

In the theme of Castles of Belgium and series For Tourism, this postage stamp was designed by Herman Verbaere and using the lithography of Paul Verheyden. It is included in the Official Catalog of Postage Stamps (COB) as No. 1835.

The Castle of the Counts of Merode, now owned by the Municipality of Ham-sur-Heure-Nalinnes and seat of the Municipal Administration, nestles in the green wooded setting of the Eau d'Heure valley, between Charleroi and Philippeville. Located at the entrance to the village of Ham-sur-Heure, the old fortress builds its benevolent walls in the middle of a green park, bucolic setting for a romantic stroll or a family outing.

The building also houses the CPAS, the Municipal Library of Ham-sur-Heure and the Museum of Rural and Craft Life.
