Who thinks of cycling in South Limburg is initially thinking of climbing the many hills that the region is rich in. But the southernmost province of the Netherlands is also the ideal cycling region par excellence for recreational cyclists. South Limburg has much more to offer than just these hills. Discover the extensive plateaus and Maasvlaktes, which are interspersed with charming villages and towns. In addition, each region has its own distinctive characteristics, so that you are again and again surprised at each knottingpoint and even in between.



This is the last knottingpoint on day 2 of a 3 day cycling tour from Tongeren BE to Heerlen NL. On day 2 the trip went from Heerlen to Vaals (tree country point). On one of the last steep klimbs I had to stand straight on the pedals and then.....BANG, the drive belt of my Cortina Speed broke!!!! The last part of the trip had to be done walking or stepping my bike.At the end all turned out well. I had a good bike in replace by the bike shop Marsael in Heerlen. So we could finish our tour the next day. On 16 th oktober we went back to pick up my repared bike and did another tour to Geleen and Sittard.
