In Cambridge, within the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) campus, is a large, angular black structure known as "The Big Sail," listed in the Smithsonian Sculpture Art Inventory.

The sculpture is located in a circular area in the middle of a campus area bounded by MIT buildings. The Green Building, the tallest building on the campus, is to the north.

The sculpture is fabricated of 32 pieces of plate metal bolted together and is painted black.
