[GER] Der Wasserturm Malente wurde 1912 im Zuge der damaligen Ortserweiterung in der Ringstraße 25 errichtet, da Malente ein aufstrebender Kurort geworden war und eine leistungsfähige Wasserversorgung brauchte.
Der Wasserturm besteht im Kern aus einer Stahlbeton-Konstruktion. Das Äußere ist im unteren Bereich mit Backstein verblendet, während im vorkragenden Turmkopf der Beton sichtbar ist. Der Turm ist 38 m hoch und hat fünf Etagen. In der fünften Etage befindet sich ein zylindrischer Wasserbehälter von 142 m³ Fassungsvermögen.
Im Jahre 1959 verlor der Wasserturm seine Funktion und wurde stillgelegt.
[ENG] GER] The Malente Water Tower was built in 1912 as part of the expansion of the town on Ringstrasse 25 because Malente had become an up-and-coming health resort and needed an efficient water supply.
The core of the water tower consists of a reinforced concrete construction. The exterior is covered with brick in the lower area, while the concrete is visible in the projecting head of the tower. The tower is 38 m high and has five floors. On the fifth floor there is a cylindrical water tank with a capacity of 142 m³.
In 1959 the water tower lost its function and was shut down.
