While driving the winding roads through this beautiful old cemetery, I almost missed this Woodmen of the World gravestone. Sitting on a slight hill in an area that has very few graves which appears almost unkempt in comparison to the remainder of the well maintained cemetery, is this small monument for Joseph Olesnevetch.

According to Joseph's death certificate which is found on Ancestry.com, he was a widower who was born in Austria and who passed away at the age of 51 from tuberculosis. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, a very large employer for workers in Berks County. There doesn't seem to be much other information available but someone cared enough about Mr. Olesnevetch to provide him with this memorable tombstone.

Inscription on the stone:
Joseph Olesnevetch
Born Dec. 26, 1866
Died Nov. 20, 1917
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
