"Ami Ellen Briggs, 21, Washington, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012.
"Miss Briggs was born Dec. 29, 1990, in Ahmedabad, India. Jim Briggs and wife Christie, nee Walde, were blessed to adopt her into their home March 19, 1995.
"She graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School, Washington, and Washington High School. Miss Briggs later attended East Central College and Lindenwood University. She grew up as an active part of the Immanuel Lutheran youth group. She was a beautiful girl and was loved dearly.
"Miss Briggs is survived by her parents, Jim and Christie Briggs, Washington; her siblings, William Briggs, Kashmira Briggs and Eric Briggs, all of Washington; her grandfather, Glenn Kopp, Washington; aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
"A memorial service was held Sunday, March 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Washington, with Pastor Mark Bangert officiating.
"Burial was in the church cemetery.
"Memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund or Immanuel Lutheran youth group are preferred." ~ The Missourian, March 28, 2012
