This single span arch bridge carries a former railway line over a farm track to give access for a nearby farm. It has stone abbutments with a brick arch.

The Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway was an early British railway company which opened in stages between 1841 and 1845 between Sheffield and Manchester via Ashton-under-Lyne. In conjunction with the proposed Sheffield and Lincolnshire Junction Railway and Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway, it was renamed the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway in 1847.
The railway line ceased to carry trains in 1983 when the local Sheffield–Huddersfield train service was diverted via Barnsley.
The line has now been converted to a 'rails to trails' cycling and walking trail. This forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail. This cycling and walking trail connects the west coat at Southport to the east coast at Hornsea. This part of the route is on the central section from Leeds to Chesterfield.
