The army used six cemeteries at Fort Davis from 1854-1891. Around you is the site of the last cemetery, designated in 1879. Following the closure of Fort Davis, the remains of 91 enlisted men, 2 officers, and 7 civilians were disinterred and reburied in San Antonio.
