The Parks Department now reserve pavilions and the Gazebo around Lions Lake. Please call or stop by the Parks Department. BBQ pits are at each pavilion. Picnic tables at each location and there is no electricity at the pavilions.

Bernie E. Hillermann
Bernie Anthony Hillermann was born January 9, 1932 in Washington, Missouri, son of the late Bernie E. Hillermann and wife, Margaret Schroeder Hillermann. He passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 in Washington at the age of 84 years.

"Bernie became very active in the Washington community. He was the Town & Country Fair Chairman in 1968, was very active with the Washington Highway Transportation Committee; where he was instrumental in the naming of the expanded highway to “Veterans Memorial Highway”, was a board member of St. Francis Hospital during the building of our new hospital in 1976, on the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Endowment committee, Board of Directors for Mercantile Bank of Franklin County, member of Washington Elks, Washington American Legion, Washington V.F. W., Knights of Columbus 4th degree, active Chamber of Commerce member for many years, member of St. Francis Borgia Church, very proud past chairman and 20 year member of the Washington Public Works committee, Mayor of the City of Washington from 1992-1996, and was the recipient of the Washington Missourian – Washingtonian Award in 1999. Recently, he helped start the Washington Korean Veterans Organization and spearheaded the Jr. ROTC uniform drive. In the nursery and landscape business, he was active in those organizations as well. He had been president of the Western Nursery and Landscape Organization, Missouri Landscape and Nursery Association, and the Garden Centers of America; and had been State Governor of American Nursery & Landscape Association. Bernie was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; grandson, Jason Holthaus, three siblings, Joan Halmich and her husband, Willard, Donald Hillermann, and Theola Holdmeyer; and brother-in-law, Leo Kriete." ~ Oltmann Funeral Home
