The town hall clock of Murten was created in 1816, but the building is 400 years older.

EN: The Town Hall of Murten is located on the northern edge of the old town on the slope to the lake. It is essentially a Gothic building from the years after 1416, when much of the city had fallen victim to fire. The south side has two floors, the north side four. Inside, a public path leads down stairs to the Uferebene. 1748-50, the house was heavily rebuilt and enlarged, which leads to its present Baroque appearance towards to road, the north side is still much more Medieval.
The baroque roof turret with the clock was put on in 1816. He has on all four sides a black dial with golden Roman numerals and golden hands
DE: Das Rathaus von Murten befindet sich am nördlichen Rand der Altstadt über dem Abhang zum Seeufer. Es ist im Kern ein gotisches Gebäude aus den Jahren nach 1416, als ein Grossteil der Stadt dem Feuer zum Opfer gefallen war. Die Südseite hat zwei Etagen, die Nordseite vier. Im Inneren führt ein öffentlicher Weg über Treppen zur Uferebene hinab. 1748-50 wurde das Haus stark umgebaut und vergrössert, was zu seinem heutigen barocken Aussehen an der Strasse führt, die Nordseite wirkt noch deutlich mittelalterlicher.
Der barocke Dachreiter mit der Uhr wurde 1816 aufgesetzt. Er hat an allen vier Seiten ein schwarzes Zifferblatt mit goldenen römischen Zahlen und goldenen Zeigern
FR: L'hôtel de ville de Morat est située au nord de la vieille ville, sur le versant du lac. Il s’agit essentiellement d’un édifice gothique datant des années après 1416, où une grande partie de la ville a été la cible de tirs. Le côté sud a deux étages, le nord quatre. À l'intérieur, un chemin public mène au niveau de la rive. De 1748 à 1750, la maison a été fortement reconstruite et agrandie, ce qui lui confère son aspect baroque actuel de la façade vers le rue, la façade du nord est plus médiéval.
Le clocheton baroque avec l'horloge a été emboîté en 1816. Il a sur les quatre côtés un cadran noir avec chiffres dorés et aiguilles dorées.
