Located in Pinafore Park in St. Thomas, this large bird house appears to be hand made. Having multiple holes (and presumably multiple rooms), I suspect that it is intended for purple martin's, a colonial nesting aeriel insectivour which had experienced population decline. Being a rare breeder in Ontario, it is more likely that the bird house is used by the ever-present house sparrow.
Is this a functional box ?: Yes
Is this birdhouse for display only?: No
Is this box occupied?: I don't know
Species: Likely designed for purple martin but most likely used by house sparrow
