A life size bronze statue of an native Alaskan member of the Territorial Guard is wearing an anorak and boots. He stands on a bronze plinth on a concrete square. He is holding an M1 rifle diagonally across his chest, with his right hand at waist level and his left hand at just below his shoulder. To his right a 6' high white stone has the dedication.

This memorial is dedicated to all
Alaska Native Veterans,
Southeast who served in the
United States Armed Forces.
Let us not dwell on their passing
but remember their shining
spirits that will live on forever.
World War I, World War II, Korea
Vietnam, Gulf War era, Panama,
Granada, Bosnia, and Afghanistan.
We honor all Veterans who served their country.
US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy,
US Air Force, US Coast Guard
US National Guard, US Merchant Marine,
Alaska Territorial Guard.
Two set of three stones are aligned in in an arc flanking the central dedication. They are inscribed:

Description of Memorial: Also known as the Alaskan Territorial Guard Memorial. The same statue specifically honoring the Alaskan Territorial Guard appears in memorials in Barrow, Nome, Kotzebue, Bethel, Anchorage, and Nenana, AK.
Many Alaska Natives joined units of the Alaska Territorial Guard to patrol Alaska’s coasts and lead reconnaissance missions in combat zones.
The memorial is set on a lawn at the intersection of tho streets. Soldier stands along apart from the inscribed stones.
