GEO*Trailblazer 1 observed the ISS while located in Cassville, Mo (N36 37.816 W93 48.193) which is 405.84 miles SW at an azimuth of 209° from Clinton, IA.
GEO*Trailblazer 1 had a view with a maximum altitude of 45°.
My view, in Clinton, IA, had a maximum altitude of 82°, which sure seemed to be directly overhead. I even had a stiff neck later in the day. That has got to be the brightest and fastest space craft that I’ve ever seen.
I was lucky enough to observe the ISS on the morning before and the morning after this recorded date. The first days sighting was at a max altitude of 30° and I had to look to the SE. The 3rd days sighting was to the NW at a max altitude of 30°.
I would like to express my thanks to GEO*Tracker 1 for jumping into this event with both feet when I contacted him about it. His immediate reply was the only way that it could have been done, considering that I gave him less than 24 hours notice.
