Rather than having a rendered brick surround for the mounted bell [as many Church bells were that I had found], this utilises a wooden framework which is cross-braced on the sides and rear, leaving the street side of the tower open. The wooden surround is poised half over the front stone wall of the church, being supported by a wedge attached to the wall. There is a peaked, slated roof, with white-painted cross at the peak. The bell appears to be about 40 cm in diameter, and hangs from a rectangular wooden beam, that pivots the wooden frame. The clapper is hanging well below the edge of the bell. While there appeared to be a couple of cords rising up to the Bell Tower from the narthrex, there wasn't any evidence of how they would swing the bell, from my photos taken.

The Christ Church building opened on 9th July 1857, with a brick Bell Tower/turret installed at that stage - as shown in a historic photo on the CHurch's webpage of 1880 [ (visit link) ]. The wooden Bell Turret was added in 1892, when the porch was added, as shown in the historic photo of 1909. [ex-Australian Historical Marker at the roadside in front of the Church.] The church is open from inspection from 10am to 4pm most week days.
