In 1975, the Kanata-March horticultural society dedicated a sundial memorial to Dr J R Ballantyne. The winged hourglass is the significant feature on this sundial. The sundial sits atop a boulder in the centre of Tom Thomson Park. The sundial has seen better days. The gnomon is missing. The base for the sundial is not level. This sundial no longer sees sunshine.
