We have a lot of personal experience with the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. My daughter's youngest dog is a rescue from there, my grandchildren have participated in their "Book Buddies" program, my granddaughter held her 7th birthday party there and instead of gifts for her, requested donations to the ARL.
Some of the programs offered by this rescue include:
*ARL Angels Foster Program - senior pets are placed in safe foster homes
*Patriotic Paws - vets get their pets free
*Book Buddies - children read to the cats
*Seniors for Seniors - adoption fees are waived for adopters over 65 if they rescue an older pet
*Low Income Spay and Neuter Days
