VR-3 je bezpilotní pruzkumný prostredek urcený k taktickému pruzkumu neprátelských objektu, terénu a radiacní situace z malých výšek do hloubky 70 kilometru v podmínkách silné protivzdušné obrany a radiace.
VR-3 lze použít k vzdušnému pruzkumu ve dne i v noci a to k pruzkumu foto, rádio, televiznímu ci radiacnímu k rušení i k nicení pozemních cílu.
Do výzbroje CS armády byl zaveden ve druhé polovine roku 1984 a to ve dvou variantách - pro fotopruzkum a televizní pruzkum.
Jeho let je dopredu naprogramován a podle tohoto programu je rízen nezávislým palubním navigacním a rídícím systémem. Pruzkumné zarízení je možné zapnout dvakrát nad ruznými objekty pri výšce pruzkumu 200 až 1000 metru nad terénem. Zejména pri letu v malé výšce pri rychlosti letu okolo 900 kilometru za hodinu je tento pruzkumný prostredek pro své malé rozmery obtížné zjistitelný a tím i méne zranitelný neprátelskou protivzdušnou obranou.

The VR-3 is an unmanned reconnaissance device designed to tactically investigate enemy objects, terrain, and radiation from low heights to a depth of 70 kilometers under conditions of strong air defense and radiation.
The VR-3 can be used for day and night aerial exploration of photo, radio, television or radios for interference and for destroying land targets.
The arsenal of the Army was introduced in the second half of 1984, in two variants - photographic research and television survey.
Its flight is programmed in advance and is controlled by an independent on-board navigation and control system. The reconnaissance facility can be turned on twice over the various objects at a survey height of 200-1000 meters above the terrain. Particularly for low flight flights at a flight speed of around 900 kilometers per hour, this means of reconnaissance is difficult to detect for its small dimensions, and thus less vulnerable to enemy air defenses.
